Waylon Graves

Waylon Graves is an Appalachian horror writer, artist, and publisher from West Virginia. He is the creator of the Cryptid Carl Chronicles, a pulp-horror adventure series that digs into the monsters, folklore, strange history, and forgotten corners of Appalachia.

He is also the founder and editor of Dark Side of the Holler, an independent magazine devoted to strange fiction, regional folklore, cryptids, haints, and other things lurking beyond the porch light.

When he isn’t writing about monsters, Graves is usually drawing them, painting them, wandering around West Virginia looking for them, or printing magazines about people who swear they saw one.
